AG's Journal #5

day 24 & 25- 2/8 & 9- the last two days we did pickup shows at the wobbly barn and the snow barn in vermont because we're still waiting for the rv to get fixed. word on the van in maine is vague at best. the shows are about as good as can be considering the circumstances. both were unadvertised so the crowds were alright, but nothing earth shattering. the highlight of course is our biker buddy big don and his vermont crew. thanks again to the wobbly barn and the snow barn for helping us out with the extra shows. we are playing in lancaster, pa. no matter what, so we're crossing our fingers and hoping our vehicles are ready.

day 26- 2/10- blue star-lancaster, pa. these are the times that truly test the character of the people in a band. this morning we find out that the rv will not be ready until tomorrow because they nicked the radiator as they were installing it and it has a hole in it. the van will be ready tomorrow as well. we all realize how fortunate we were spacewise now that we're all crammed into two small trucks with gear and the limited clothes we all brought. not to mention we miss our soundman james. the drive to lancaster will be about 6 hours and we'll be cramped, not to mention everyone is a little crabby. now is when the creative juices start flowing as we figure out our situation. after hours of deliberation in the war room, this is our solution. we drive the two rental trucks to lancaster to do the show with the recipe. reed picks up the rv tomorrow and brings big don and torbin with him to baltimore. torbin will return one rental truck to killington and big don will bring the other back to portland. meanwhile, james will drive the van to baltimore and meet us. hopefully by saturday everything will be back to normal. (knock on wood)...............
